צ״ז

א׳יְהֹוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ תָּגֵ֣ל הָאָ֑רֶץ יִ֝שְׂמְח֗וּ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃

1GOD is sovereign!Let the earth exult,the many islands rejoice!

ב׳עָנָ֣ן וַעֲרָפֶ֣ל סְבִיבָ֑יו צֶ֥דֶק וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט מְכ֣וֹן כִּסְאֽוֹ׃

2Surrounded by dense clouds—righteousness and justice are the base of the heavenly throne.

ג׳אֵ֭שׁ לְפָנָ֣יו תֵּלֵ֑ךְ וּתְלַהֵ֖ט סָבִ֣יב צָרָֽיו׃

3Fire is the vanguard,burning up foes on every side.

ד׳הֵאִ֣ירוּ בְרָקָ֣יו תֵּבֵ֑ל רָאֲתָ֖ה וַתָּחֵ֣ל הָאָֽרֶץ׃

4God’s lightnings light up the world;the earth is convulsed at the sight;

ה׳הָרִ֗ים כַּדּוֹנַ֗ג נָ֭מַסּוּ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה מִ֝לִּפְנֵ֗י אֲד֣וֹן כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

5mountains melt like wax at GOD’s presence,at the presence of the Sovereign of all the earth.

ו׳הִגִּ֣ידוּ הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם צִדְק֑וֹ וְרָא֖וּ כׇל־הָעַמִּ֣ים כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃

6The heavens proclaim God’s righteousnessand all peoples see God’s glory.

ז׳יֵבֹ֤שׁוּ ׀ כׇּל־עֹ֬בְדֵי פֶ֗סֶל הַמִּֽתְהַלְלִ֥ים בָּאֱלִילִ֑ים הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ל֝֗וֹ כׇּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃

7All who worship images,who vaunt their idols,are dismayed;all divine beings bow down in homage.

ח׳שָׁמְעָ֬ה וַתִּשְׂמַ֨ח ׀ צִיּ֗וֹן וַ֭תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנ֣וֹת יְהוּדָ֑ה לְמַ֖עַן מִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ יְהֹוָֽה׃

8Zion, hearing it, rejoices,the townsatowns Or “women.” of Judah exult,because of Your judgments, O ETERNAL One.

ט׳כִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה יְהֹוָ֗ה עֶלְי֥וֹן עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ מְאֹ֥ד נַ֝עֲלֵ֗יתָ עַל־כׇּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃

9For You, ETERNAL One, are supreme over all the earth;You are exalted high above all divine beings.

י׳אֹֽהֲבֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֗ה שִׂנְא֫וּ־רָ֥ע שֹׁ֭מֵר נַפְשׁ֣וֹת חֲסִידָ֑יו מִיַּ֥ד רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יַצִּילֵֽם׃

10O you who love GOD, hate evil!For the lives of the loyal are guarded;they are saved from the hand of the wicked.

י״אא֭וֹר זָרֻ֣עַ לַצַּדִּ֑יק וּֽלְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵ֥ב שִׂמְחָֽה׃

11Light is sown for the righteous,radiancebradiance In contrast to others “joy.” for the upright.

י״בשִׂמְח֣וּ צַ֭דִּיקִים בַּיהֹוָ֑ה וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃ {פ}

12O you righteous, rejoice in GOD and acclaim God’s holy name!

צ״ח

א׳מִזְמ֡וֹר שִׁ֤ירוּ לַיהֹוָ֨ה ׀ שִׁ֣יר חָ֭דָשׁ כִּֽי־נִפְלָא֣וֹת עָשָׂ֑ה הוֹשִׁיעָה־לּ֥וֹ יְ֝מִינ֗וֹ וּזְר֥וֹעַ קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃

1A psalm.Sing to GOD a new song,who has worked wonders—who with right hand, and holy arm,has won victory.

ב׳הוֹדִ֣יעַ יְ֭הֹוָה יְשׁוּעָת֑וֹ לְעֵינֵ֥י הַ֝גּוֹיִ֗ם גִּלָּ֥ה צִדְקָתֽוֹ׃

2GOD has manifested victory,and displayed triumph in the sight of the nations—

ג׳זָ֘כַ֤ר חַסְדּ֨וֹ ׀ וֶ֥אֱֽמוּנָתוֹ֮ לְבֵ֢ית יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל רָא֥וּ כׇל־אַפְסֵי־אָ֑רֶץ אֵ֝֗ת יְשׁוּעַ֥ת אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

3mindful of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness toward the house of Israel.All the ends of the earth beheld the victory of our God.

ד׳הָרִ֣יעוּ לַ֭יהֹוָה כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ פִּצְח֖וּ וְרַנְּנ֣וּ וְזַמֵּֽרוּ׃

4Raise a shout to GOD, all the earth,break into joyous songs of praise!

ה׳זַמְּר֣וּ לַיהֹוָ֣ה בְּכִנּ֑וֹר בְּ֝כִנּ֗וֹר וְק֣וֹל זִמְרָֽה׃

5Sing praise to GOD with the lyre,with the lyre and melodious song.

ו׳בַּ֭חֲצֹ֣צְרוֹת וְק֣וֹל שׁוֹפָ֑ר הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ לִפְנֵ֤י ׀ הַמֶּ֬לֶךְ יְהֹוָֽה׃

6With trumpets and the blast of the hornraise a shout before GOD, the King.aKing I.e., the One who leads the celestial army to victory.

ז׳יִרְעַ֣ם הַ֭יָּם וּמְלֹא֑וֹ תֵּ֝בֵ֗ל וְיֹ֣שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃

7Let the sea and all within it thunder,the world and its inhabitants;

ח׳נְהָר֥וֹת יִמְחֲאוּ־כָ֑ף יַ֝֗חַד הָרִ֥ים יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃

8let the rivers clap their hands,the mountains sing joyously together

ט׳לִ֥פְֽנֵי־יְהֹוָ֗ה כִּ֥י בָא֮ לִשְׁפֹּ֢ט הָ֫אָ֥רֶץ יִשְׁפֹּֽט־תֵּבֵ֥ל בְּצֶ֑דֶק וְ֝עַמִּ֗ים בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ {פ}

9at the presence of GOD—who is coming to rule the earth:[God] will rule the world justly,and its peoples with equity.

צ״ט

א׳יְהֹוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ יִרְגְּז֣וּ עַמִּ֑ים יֹשֵׁ֥ב כְּ֝רוּבִ֗ים תָּנ֥וּט הָאָֽרֶץ׃

1GOD, enthroned on cherubim, is sovereign,peoples tremble,aGOD, enthroned on cherubim, is sovereign, / peoples tremble Clauses transposed for clarity. the earth quakes.

ב׳יְ֭הֹוָה בְּצִיּ֣וֹן גָּד֑וֹל וְרָ֥ם ה֝֗וּא עַל־כׇּל־הָעַמִּֽים׃

2GOD is great in Zion,and exalted above all peoples.

ג׳יוֹד֣וּ שִׁ֭מְךָ גָּד֥וֹל וְנוֹרָ֗א קָד֥וֹשׁ הֽוּא׃

3They praise Your name as great and awesome;[God] is holy!

ד׳וְעֹ֥ז מֶלֶךְ֮ מִשְׁפָּ֢ט אָ֫הֵ֥ב אַ֭תָּה כּוֹנַ֣נְתָּ מֵישָׁרִ֑ים מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּ֝צְדָקָ֗ה בְּיַעֲקֹ֤ב ׀ אַתָּ֬ה עָשִֽׂיתָ׃

4Mighty rulerbMighty ruler Meaning of Heb. uncertain. who loves justice,it was You who established equity,You who worked righteous judgment in Jacob.

ה׳רוֹמְמ֡וּ יְ֘הֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וְֽ֭הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַהֲדֹ֥ם רַגְלָ֗יו קָד֥וֹשׁ הֽוּא׃

5Exalt the ETERNAL our Godand bow down to the divine footstool;[God] is holy!

ו׳מֹ֘שֶׁ֤ה וְאַהֲרֹ֨ן ׀ בְּֽכֹהֲנָ֗יו וּ֭שְׁמוּאֵל בְּקֹרְאֵ֣י שְׁמ֑וֹ קֹרִ֥אים אֶל־יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה וְה֣וּא יַעֲנֵֽם׃

6Moses and Aaron among God’s priests,Samuel, among those who call on the divine name—when they called to GOD,they were answered.

ז׳בְּעַמּ֣וּד עָ֭נָן יְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם שָׁמְר֥וּ עֵ֝דֹתָ֗יו וְחֹ֣ק נָֽתַן־לָֽמוֹ׃

7[God] spoke to them in a pillar of cloud;they obeyed those decrees,the law given to them.

ח׳יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵינוּ֮ אַתָּ֢ה עֲנִ֫יתָ֥ם אֵ֣ל נֹ֭שֵׂא הָיִ֣יתָ לָהֶ֑ם וְ֝נֹקֵ֗ם עַל־עֲלִילוֹתָֽם׃

8Our ETERNAL God, You answered them;You were a forgiving God for them,but You exacted retribution for their misdeeds.

ט׳רוֹמְמ֡וּ יְ֘הֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וְֽ֭הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְהַ֣ר קׇדְשׁ֑וֹ כִּי־קָ֝ד֗וֹשׁ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ {פ}

9Exalt the ETERNAL our God,and bow toward God’s holy hill,for the ETERNAL our God is holy.

א׳מִזְמ֥וֹר לְתוֹדָ֑ה הָרִ֥יעוּ לַ֝יהֹוָ֗ה כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

1A psalm for praise.afor praise Traditionally “for the thanksgiving offering.” Raise a shout for GOD, all the earth;

ב׳עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה בֹּ֥אוּ לְ֝פָנָ֗יו בִּרְנָנָֽה׃

2worship GOD in gladness;come into the divine presence with shouts of joy.

ג׳דְּע֗וּ כִּֽי־יְהֹוָה֮ ה֤וּא אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים הֽוּא־עָ֭שָׂנוּ (ולא) [וְל֣וֹ] אֲנַ֑חְנוּ עַ֝מּ֗וֹ וְצֹ֣אן מַרְעִיתֽוֹ׃

3Acknowledge that the ETERNAL is God,who made us and to whom we belong,bto whom we belong So qere; kethib and some ancient versions “not we ourselves.” a covenanted people, the flock whom [God] tends.

ד׳בֹּ֤אוּ שְׁעָרָ֨יו ׀ בְּתוֹדָ֗ה חֲצֵרֹתָ֥יו בִּתְהִלָּ֑ה הוֹדוּ־ל֝֗וֹ בָּרְכ֥וּ שְׁמֽוֹ׃

4Enter the temple’s gates with praise,its courts with acclamation.Give praise!Bless the divine name!

ה׳כִּי־ט֣וֹב יְ֭הֹוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְעַד־דֹּ֥ר וָ֝דֹ֗ר אֱמוּנָתֽוֹ׃ {פ}

5For GOD—whose steadfast love is eternal,and whose faithfulness is for all generations—is good.

א׳לְדָוִ֗ד מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר חֶֽסֶד־וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט אָשִׁ֑ירָה לְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃

1Of David. A psalm.I will sing of faithfulness and justice;I will chant a hymn to You, O ETERNAL One.

ב׳אַשְׂכִּ֤ילָה ׀ בְּדֶ֬רֶךְ תָּמִ֗ים מָ֭תַי תָּב֣וֹא אֵלָ֑י אֶתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּתׇם־לְ֝בָבִ֗י בְּקֶ֣רֶב בֵּיתִֽי׃

2I will study the way of the blameless;when shall I attain it?I will live without blame within my house.

ג׳לֹֽא־אָשִׁ֨ית ׀ לְנֶ֥גֶד עֵינַ֗י דְּֽבַר־בְּלִ֫יָּ֥עַל עֲשֹֽׂה־סֵטִ֥ים שָׂנֵ֑אתִי לֹ֖א יִדְבַּ֣ק בִּֽי׃

3I will not set before my eyes anything base;I hate crooked dealing;I will have none of it.

ד׳לֵבָ֣ב עִ֭קֵּשׁ יָס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נִּי רָ֝֗ע לֹ֣א אֵדָֽע׃

4Perverse thoughts will be far from me;I will know nothing of evil.

ה׳(מלושני) [מְלׇשְׁנִ֬י] בַסֵּ֨תֶר ׀ רֵעֵהוּ֮ אוֹת֢וֹ אַ֫צְמִ֥ית גְּֽבַהּ־עֵ֭ינַיִם וּרְחַ֣ב לֵבָ֑ב אֹ֝ת֗וֹ לֹ֣א אוּכָֽל׃

5One who slanders a friend in secret I will destroy;I cannot endure anyone haughty and proud.

ו׳עֵינַ֤י ׀ בְּנֶֽאֶמְנֵי־אֶרֶץ֮ לָשֶׁ֢בֶת עִמָּ֫דִ֥י הֹ֭לֵךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ תָּמִ֑ים ה֝֗וּא יְשָׁרְתֵֽנִי׃

6My eyes are on the trustworthy ones of the land,to have them at my side.One who follows the way of the blamelessshall be in my service.

ז׳לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֨ב ׀ בְּקֶ֥רֶב בֵּיתִי֮ עֹשֵׂ֢ה רְמִ֫יָּ֥ה דֹּבֵ֥ר שְׁקָרִ֑ים לֹא־יִ֝כּ֗וֹן לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָֽי׃

7One who deals deceitfullyshall not live in my house;one who speaks untruthshall not stand before my eyes.

ח׳לַבְּקָרִ֗ים אַצְמִ֥ית כׇּל־רִשְׁעֵי־אָ֑רֶץ לְהַכְרִ֥ית מֵעִיר־יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה כׇּל־פֹּ֥עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ {פ}

8Each morning I will destroyall the wicked of the land,to rid GOD’s cityof all evildoers.

א׳תְּ֭פִלָּה לְעָנִ֣י כִֽי־יַעֲטֹ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֥י יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ שִׂיחֽוֹ׃

1A prayer of one who is lowly and faint, pouring forth a plea before GOD.

ב׳יְ֭הֹוָה שִׁמְעָ֣ה תְפִלָּתִ֑י וְ֝שַׁוְעָתִ֗י אֵלֶ֥יךָ תָבֽוֹא׃

2O ETERNAL One, hear my prayer;let my cry come before You.

ג׳אַל־תַּסְתֵּ֬ר פָּנֶ֨יךָ ׀ מִמֶּנִּי֮ בְּי֢וֹם צַ֫ר־לִ֥י הַטֵּֽה־אֵלַ֥י אׇזְנֶ֑ךָ בְּי֥וֹם אֶ֝קְרָ֗א מַהֵ֥ר עֲנֵֽנִי׃

3Do not hide Your face from mein my time of trouble;turn Your ear to me;when I cry, answer me speedily.

ד׳כִּֽי־כָל֣וּ בְעָשָׁ֣ן יָמָ֑י וְ֝עַצְמוֹתַ֗י כְּמוֹקֵ֥ד נִחָֽרוּ׃

4For my days have vanished like smokeand my bones are charred like a hearth.

ה׳הוּכָּה־כָעֵ֣שֶׂב וַיִּבַ֣שׁ לִבִּ֑י כִּֽי־שָׁ֝כַ֗חְתִּי מֵאֲכֹ֥ל לַחְמִֽי׃

5My body is stricken and withered like grass;too wastedatoo wasted In contrast to others “I forget.” to eat my food;

ו׳מִקּ֥וֹל אַנְחָתִ֑י דָּבְקָ֥ה עַ֝צְמִ֗י לִבְשָׂרִֽי׃

6on account of my vehement groaningmy bones show through my skin.bshow through my skin Lit. “cling to my flesh.”

ז׳דָּ֭מִיתִי לִקְאַ֣ת מִדְבָּ֑ר הָ֝יִ֗יתִי כְּכ֣וֹס חֳרָבֽוֹת׃

7I am like a great owl in the wilderness,an owl among the ruins.

ח׳שָׁקַ֥דְתִּי וָאֶהְיֶ֑ה כְּ֝צִפּ֗וֹר בּוֹדֵ֥ד עַל־גָּֽג׃

8I lie awake; I am likea lone bird upon a roof.

ט׳כׇּל־הַ֭יּוֹם חֵרְפ֣וּנִי אוֹיְבָ֑י מְ֝הוֹלָלַ֗י בִּ֣י נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ׃

9All day long my enemies revile me;my deriders use my name to curse.

י׳כִּי־אֵ֭פֶר כַּלֶּ֣חֶם אָכָ֑לְתִּי וְ֝שִׁקֻּוַ֗י בִּבְכִ֥י מָסָֽכְתִּי׃

10For I have eaten ashes like breadand mixed my drink with tears,

י״אמִפְּנֵֽי־זַעַמְךָ֥ וְקִצְפֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֥י נְ֝שָׂאתַ֗נִי וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵֽנִי׃

11because of Your wrath and Your fury;for You have cast me far away.

י״ביָ֭מַי כְּצֵ֣ל נָט֑וּי וַ֝אֲנִ֗י כָּעֵ֥שֶׂב אִיבָֽשׁ׃

12My days are like a lengthening shadow;I wither like grass.

י״גוְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֑ב וְ֝זִכְרְךָ֗ לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹֽר׃

13But You, O ETERNAL One, are enthroned forever;Your fame endures throughout the ages.

י״דאַתָּ֣ה תָ֭קוּם תְּרַחֵ֣ם צִיּ֑וֹן כִּי־עֵ֥ת לְ֝חֶֽנְנָ֗הּ כִּי־בָ֥א מוֹעֵֽד׃

14You will surely arise and take pity on Zion,for it is time to be gracious to her;the appointed time has come.

ט״וכִּי־רָצ֣וּ עֲ֭בָדֶיךָ אֶת־אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ וְֽאֶת־עֲפָרָ֥הּ יְחֹנֵֽנוּ׃

15Your servants take delight in its stones,and cherish its dust.

ט״זוְיִֽירְא֣וּ ג֭וֹיִם אֶת־שֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֑ה וְֽכׇל־מַלְכֵ֥י הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ אֶת־כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃

16The nations will fear the name of GOD,all the kings of the earth, Your glory.

י״זכִּי־בָנָ֣ה יְהֹוָ֣ה צִיּ֑וֹן נִ֝רְאָ֗ה בִּכְבוֹדֽוֹ׃

17For GOD has built Zion,appearing in divine glory—

י״חפָּ֭נָה אֶל־תְּפִלַּ֣ת הָעַרְעָ֑ר וְלֹא־בָ֝זָ֗ה אֶת־תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃

18turning to the prayer of the destitutecof the destitute Meaning of Heb. uncertain. and not spurning their prayer.

י״טתִּכָּ֣תֶב זֹ֭את לְד֣וֹר אַחֲר֑וֹן וְעַ֥ם נִ֝בְרָ֗א יְהַלֶּל־יָֽהּ׃

19May this be written down for a coming generation,that people yet to be created may praise Yah.dYah See note at 68.5.

כ׳כִּֽי־הִ֭שְׁקִיף מִמְּר֣וֹם קׇדְשׁ֑וֹ יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה מִשָּׁמַ֤יִם ׀ אֶל־אֶ֬רֶץ הִבִּֽיט׃

20Looking down from the holy heights, GOD beholds the earth from heaven

כ״אלִ֭שְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַ֣ת אָסִ֑יר לְ֝פַתֵּ֗חַ בְּנֵ֣י תְמוּתָֽה׃

21to hear the groans of the prisoner,to release those condemned to death;

כ״בלְסַפֵּ֣ר בְּ֭צִיּוֹן שֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֑ה וּ֝תְהִלָּת֗וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

22that GOD’s fame may be recounted in Zion,with praises offered in Jerusalem,

כ״גבְּהִקָּבֵ֣ץ עַמִּ֣ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וּ֝מַמְלָכ֗וֹת לַעֲבֹ֥ד אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃

23when the nations gather together,the kingdoms, to serve GOD.

כ״דעִנָּ֖ה בַדֶּ֥רֶךְ (כחו) [כֹּחִ֗י] קִצַּ֥ר יָמָֽי׃

24My strength was drained in mid-course,my days shortened.

כ״האֹמַ֗ר אֵלִ֗י אַֽל־תַּ֭עֲלֵנִי בַּחֲצִ֣י יָמָ֑י בְּד֖וֹר דּוֹרִ֣ים שְׁנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

25I say, “O my God, do not take me awayin the midst of my days,You whose years go on for generations on end.

כ״ולְ֭פָנִים הָאָ֣רֶץ יָסַ֑דְתָּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדֶ֣יךָ שָׁמָֽיִם׃

26Of old You established the earth;the heavens are the work of Your hands.

כ״זהֵ֤מָּה ׀ יֹאבֵדוּ֮ וְאַתָּ֢ה תַ֫עֲמֹ֥ד וְ֭כֻלָּם כַּבֶּ֣גֶד יִבְל֑וּ כַּלְּב֖וּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵ֣ם וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃

27They shall perish, but You shall endure;they shall all wear out like a garment;You change them like clothing and they pass away.

כ״חוְאַתָּה־ה֑וּא וּ֝שְׁנוֹתֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א יִתָּֽמּוּ׃

28But You are the same, and Your years never end.

כ״טבְּנֵֽי־עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ יִשְׁכּ֑וֹנוּ וְ֝זַרְעָ֗ם לְפָנֶ֥יךָ יִכּֽוֹן׃ {פ}

29May the children of Your servants dwell securelyand their offspring endure in Your presence.”

א׳לְדָוִ֨ד ׀ בָּרְכִ֣י נַ֭פְשִׁי אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְכׇל־קְ֝רָבַ֗י אֶת־שֵׁ֥ם קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃

1Of David.Bless GOD, O my soul,all my being, that holy name.

ב׳בָּרְכִ֣י נַ֭פְשִׁי אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְאַל־תִּ֝שְׁכְּחִ֗י כׇּל־גְּמוּלָֽיו׃

2Bless the ETERNAL One, O my soul,and do not forget all God’s bounties.

ג׳הַסֹּלֵ֥חַ לְכׇל־עֲוֺנֵ֑כִי הָ֝רֹפֵ֗א לְכׇל־תַּחֲלוּאָֽיְכִי׃

3All your sins are forgiven,all your diseases healed.

ד׳הַגּוֹאֵ֣ל מִשַּׁ֣חַת חַיָּ֑יְכִי הַֽ֝מְעַטְּרֵ֗כִי חֶ֣סֶד וְרַחֲמִֽים׃

4Your life is redeemed from the Pit,you are surrounded with steadfast love and mercy.

ה׳הַמַּשְׂבִּ֣יעַ בַּטּ֣וֹב עֶדְיֵ֑ךְ תִּתְחַדֵּ֖שׁ כַּנֶּ֣שֶׁר נְעוּרָֽיְכִי׃

5You are satisfied with good things in the prime of life,athe prime of life Meaning of Heb. uncertain. so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

ו׳עֹשֵׂ֣ה צְדָק֣וֹת יְהֹוָ֑ה וּ֝מִשְׁפָּטִ֗ים לְכׇל־עֲשׁוּקִֽים׃

6GOD executes righteous actsand judgments for all who are wronged—

ז׳יוֹדִ֣יעַ דְּרָכָ֣יו לְמֹשֶׁ֑ה לִבְנֵ֥י יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל עֲלִילוֹתָֽיו׃

7making known to Moses the divine ways,and to the children of Israel, holy deeds.

ח׳רַח֣וּם וְחַנּ֣וּן יְהֹוָ֑ה אֶ֖רֶךְ אַפַּ֣יִם וְרַב־חָֽסֶד׃

8GOD is compassionate and gracious,slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love.

ט׳לֹא־לָנֶ֥צַח יָרִ֑יב וְלֹ֖א לְעוֹלָ֣ם יִטּֽוֹר׃

9[God] will not contend forever,or nurse anger for all time.

י׳לֹ֣א כַ֭חֲטָאֵינוּ עָ֣שָׂה לָ֑נוּ וְלֹ֥א כַ֝עֲוֺנֹתֵ֗ינוּ גָּמַ֥ל עָלֵֽינוּ׃

10[God] has not dealt with us according to our sins,nor requited us according to our iniquities.

י״אכִּ֤י כִגְבֹ֣הַּ שָׁ֭מַיִם עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ גָּבַ֥ר חַ֝סְדּ֗וֹ עַל־יְרֵאָֽיו׃

11For as the heavens are high above the earth,so great is divine steadfast love toward those who show reverence.

י״בכִּרְחֹ֣ק מִ֭זְרָח מִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב הִֽרְחִ֥יק מִ֝מֶּ֗נּוּ אֶת־פְּשָׁעֵֽינוּ׃

12As east is far from west,so far have our sins been removed from us.

י״גכְּרַחֵ֣ם אָ֭ב עַל־בָּנִ֑ים רִחַ֥ם יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה עַל־יְרֵאָֽיו׃

13As a father has compassion for his children,so GOD has compassion for those who show reverence.

י״דכִּי־ה֭וּא יָדַ֣ע יִצְרֵ֑נוּ זָ֝כ֗וּר כִּי־עָפָ֥ר אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃

14For [God] knows how we are formed,and is mindful that we are dust.

ט״ואֱ֭נוֹשׁ כֶּחָצִ֣יר יָמָ֑יו כְּצִ֥יץ הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה כֵּ֣ן יָצִֽיץ׃

15Mortals, their days are like those of grass;they bloom like a flower of the field;

ט״זכִּ֤י ר֣וּחַ עָֽבְרָה־בּ֣וֹ וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ וְלֹֽא־יַכִּירֶ֖נּוּ ע֣וֹד מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃

16a wind passes by and it is no more,its own place no longer knows it.

י״זוְחֶ֤סֶד יְהֹוָ֨ה ׀ מֵעוֹלָ֣ם וְעַד־ע֭וֹלָם עַל־יְרֵאָ֑יו וְ֝צִדְקָת֗וֹ לִבְנֵ֥י בָנִֽים׃

17But GOD’s steadfast love is for all eternitytoward those who show reverence,and God’s beneficence is for the children’s children

י״חלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י בְרִית֑וֹ וּלְזֹכְרֵ֥י פִ֝קֻּדָ֗יו לַעֲשׂוֹתָֽם׃

18of those who keep the covenantand remember to observe the divine precepts.

י״טיְֽהֹוָ֗ה בַּ֭שָּׁמַיִם הֵכִ֣ין כִּסְא֑וֹ וּ֝מַלְכוּת֗וֹ בַּכֹּ֥ל מָשָֽׁלָה׃

19GOD has established the heavenly throne,with a sovereign rule over all.

כ׳בָּרְכ֥וּ יְהֹוָ֗ה מַלְאָ֫כָ֥יו גִּבֹּ֣רֵי כֹ֭חַ עֹשֵׂ֣י דְבָר֑וֹ לִ֝שְׁמֹ֗עַ בְּק֣וֹל דְּבָרֽוֹ׃

20Bless the ETERNAL One, O angels,mighty creatures who do God’s bidding,ever obedient to that bidding;

כ״אבָּרְכ֣וּ יְ֭הֹוָה כׇּל־צְבָאָ֑יו מְ֝שָׁרְתָ֗יו עֹשֵׂ֥י רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃

21bless the ETERNAL One, all youbyou Heb. “His.” hosts,youcyou See preceding note. servants who do God’s will;

כ״בבָּרְכ֤וּ יְהֹוָ֨ה ׀ כׇּֽל־מַעֲשָׂ֗יו בְּכׇל־מְקֹמ֥וֹת מֶמְשַׁלְתּ֑וֹ בָּרְכִ֥י נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}

22bless the ETERNAL One, all God’s works,through the length and breadth of God’s realm;bless the ETERNAL One, O my soul.
