א׳לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ שִׁ֣יר מִזְמ֑וֹר הָרִ֥יעוּ לֵ֝אלֹהִ֗ים כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
1For the leader. A song. A psalm.Raise a shout for God, all the earth;
ב׳זַמְּר֥וּ כְבֽוֹד־שְׁמ֑וֹ שִׂ֥ימוּ כָ֝ב֗וֹד תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃
2sing the glory of God’s name,make glorious God’s praise.
ג׳אִמְר֣וּ לֵ֭אלֹהִים מַה־נּוֹרָ֣א מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ בְּרֹ֥ב עֻ֝זְּךָ֗ יְֽכַחֲשׁ֖וּ לְךָ֣ אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃
3Say to God,“How awesome are Your deeds,Your enemies cower before Your great strength;
ד׳כׇּל־הָאָ֤רֶץ ׀ יִשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ לְ֭ךָ וִיזַמְּרוּ־לָ֑ךְ יְזַמְּר֖וּ שִׁמְךָ֣ סֶֽלָה׃
4all the earth bows to You,and sings hymns to You;all sing hymns to Your name.” Selah.
ה׳לְכ֣וּ וּ֭רְאוּ מִפְעֲל֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֑ים נוֹרָ֥א עֲ֝לִילָ֗ה עַל־בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃
5Come and see the works of God,who is held in awe by mortals for acts divine,
ו׳הָ֤פַךְ יָ֨ם ׀ לְֽיַבָּשָׁ֗ה בַּ֭נָּהָר יַעַבְר֣וּ בְרָ֑גֶל שָׁ֝֗ם נִשְׂמְחָה־בּֽוֹ׃
6and who turned the sea into dry land:IsraelaIsrael Heb. “they”; cf. Josh. 4.23. crossed the river on foot;we therefore rejoice in [God].
ז׳מֹ֘שֵׁ֤ל בִּגְבוּרָת֨וֹ ׀ עוֹלָ֗ם עֵ֭ינָיו בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם תִּצְפֶּ֑ינָה הַסּוֹרְרִ֓ים ׀ אַל־[יָר֖וּמוּ] (ירימו) לָ֣מוֹ סֶֽלָה׃
7[God] rules forever with divine might,eyes scanning the nations—not letting the rebellious assert themselves. Selah.
ח׳בָּרְכ֖וּ עַמִּ֥ים ׀ אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וְ֝הַשְׁמִ֗יעוּ ק֣וֹל תְּהִלָּתֽוֹ׃
8O peoples, bless our God;celebrate with praises
ט׳הַשָּׂ֣ם נַ֭פְשֵׁנוּ בַּחַיִּ֑ים וְלֹֽא־נָתַ֖ן לַמּ֣וֹט רַגְלֵֽנוּ׃
9the One who has granted us life,and has not let our feet slip.
י׳כִּֽי־בְחַנְתָּ֥נוּ אֱלֹהִ֑ים צְ֝רַפְתָּ֗נוּ כִּצְרׇף־כָּֽסֶף׃
10You have tried us, O God,refining us, as one refines silver.
י״אהֲבֵאתָ֥נוּ בַמְּצוּדָ֑ה שַׂ֖מְתָּ מוּעָקָ֣ה בְמׇתְנֵֽינוּ׃
11You have caught us in a net,caught us in trammels.bcaught us in trammels Lit. “put a trammel on our loins.”
י״בהִרְכַּ֥בְתָּֽ אֱנ֗וֹשׁ לְרֹ֫אשֵׁ֥נוּ בָּֽאנוּ־בָאֵ֥שׁ וּבַמַּ֑יִם וַ֝תּוֹצִיאֵ֗נוּ לָרְוָיָֽה׃
12You have let people ride over us;we have endured fire and water,and You have brought us through to prosperity.
י״גאָב֣וֹא בֵיתְךָ֣ בְעוֹל֑וֹת אֲשַׁלֵּ֖ם לְךָ֣ נְדָרָֽי׃
13I enter Your house with burnt offerings,I pay my vows to You,
י״דאֲשֶׁר־פָּצ֥וּ שְׂפָתָ֑י וְדִבֶּר־פִּ֝֗י בַּצַּר־לִֽי׃
14[vows] that my lips pronounced,that my mouth uttered in my distress.
ט״ועֹ֘ל֤וֹת מֵיחִ֣ים אַֽעֲלֶה־לָּ֭ךְ עִם־קְטֹ֣רֶת אֵילִ֑ים אֶ֥עֱשֶֽׂה־בָקָ֖ר עִם־עַתּוּדִ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃
15I offer up fatlings to You,with the odor of burning rams;I sacrifice bulls and he-goats. Selah.
ט״זלְכוּ־שִׁמְע֣וּ וַ֭אֲסַפְּרָה כׇּל־יִרְאֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר עָשָׂ֣ה לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃
16Come and hear, all you who fear God,as I tell what was done for me.
י״זאֵלָ֥יו פִּֽי־קָרָ֑אתִי וְ֝רוֹמַ֗ם תַּ֣חַת לְשׁוֹנִֽי׃
17I called aloud to [God],glorification on my tongue.
י״חאָ֭וֶן אִם־רָאִ֣יתִי בְלִבִּ֑י לֹ֖א יִשְׁמַ֣ע ׀ אֲדֹנָֽי׃
18Had I an evil thought in my mind,my Sovereign would not have listened.
י״טאָ֭כֵן שָׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהִ֑ים הִ֝קְשִׁ֗יב בְּק֣וֹל תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃
19But God did listen—paying heed to my prayer.
כ׳בָּר֥וּךְ אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־הֵסִ֘יר־תְּפִלָּתִ֥י וְ֝חַסְדּ֗וֹ מֵאִתִּֽי׃ {פ}
20Blessed is God who has not turned away my prayer,or faithful care, from me.

א׳לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת מִזְמ֥וֹר שִֽׁיר׃

ב׳אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים יְחׇנֵּ֥נוּ וִיבָרְכֵ֑נוּ יָ֤אֵֽר־פָּנָ֖יו אִתָּ֣נוּ סֶֽלָה׃
2May God be gracious to us and bless us,showing us favor, selah
ג׳לָדַ֣עַת בָּאָ֣רֶץ דַּרְכֶּ֑ךָ בְּכׇל־גּ֝וֹיִ֗ם יְשׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃
3that Your way be known on earth,Your deliverance among all nations.
ד׳יוֹד֖וּךָ עַמִּ֥ים ׀ אֱלֹהִ֑ים י֝וֹד֗וּךָ עַמִּ֥ים כֻּלָּֽם׃
4Peoples will praise You, O God;all peoples will praise You.
ה׳יִ֥שְׂמְח֥וּ וִירַנְּנ֗וּ לְאֻ֫מִּ֥ים כִּֽי־תִשְׁפֹּ֣ט עַמִּ֣ים מִישֹׁ֑ר וּלְאֻמִּ֓ים ׀ בָּאָ֖רֶץ תַּנְחֵ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃
5Nations will exult and shout for joy,for You rule the peoples with equity,You guide the nations of the earth. Selah.
ו׳יוֹד֖וּךָ עַמִּ֥ים ׀ אֱלֹהִ֑ים י֝וֹד֗וּךָ עַמִּ֥ים כֻּלָּֽם׃
6The peoples will praise You, O God;all peoples will praise You.
ז׳אֶ֭רֶץ נָתְנָ֣ה יְבוּלָ֑הּ יְ֝בָרְכֵ֗נוּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
7May the earth yield its produce;may God, our God, bless us.
ח׳יְבָרְכֵ֥נוּ אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְיִֽירְא֥וּ א֝וֹת֗וֹ כׇּל־אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ {פ}
8May God bless us,and be revered to the ends of the earth.

א׳לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ לְדָוִ֗ד מִזְמ֥וֹר שִֽׁיר׃
1aThe coherence of this psalm and the meaning of many of its passages are uncertain. For the leader. Of David. A psalm. A song.
ב׳יָק֣וּם אֱ֭לֹהִים יָפ֣וּצוּ אוֹיְבָ֑יו וְיָנ֥וּסוּ מְ֝שַׂנְאָ֗יו מִפָּנָֽיו׃
2God will arise;all opponents shall be scattered,and foes shall flee.
ג׳כְּהִנְדֹּ֥ף עָשָׁ֗ן תִּ֫נְדֹּ֥ף כְּהִמֵּ֣ס דּ֭וֹנַג מִפְּנֵי־אֵ֑שׁ יֹאבְד֥וּ רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים מִפְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃
3Disperse them as smoke is dispersed;as wax melts at fire,so the wicked shall perish before God.
ד׳וְֽצַדִּיקִ֗ים יִשְׂמְח֣וּ יַ֭עַלְצוּ לִפְנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִ֗ים וְיָשִׂ֥ישׂוּ בְשִׂמְחָֽה׃
4But the righteous shall rejoice;they shall exult in the presence of God;they shall be exceedingly joyful.
ה׳שִׁ֤ירוּ ׀ לֵאלֹהִים֮ זַמְּר֢וּ שְׁ֫מ֥וֹ סֹ֡לּוּ לָרֹכֵ֣ב בָּ֭עֲרָבוֹת בְּיָ֥הּ שְׁמ֗וֹ וְעִלְז֥וּ לְפָנָֽיו׃
5Sing to God, chant hymns to the divine name;extol the One who rides the clouds,the One whose name is Yah.bYah A shortened form of the divine Name; see Isa. 12.2; 26.4. Exult in God’s presence—
ו׳אֲבִ֣י יְ֭תוֹמִים וְדַיַּ֣ן אַלְמָנ֑וֹת אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בִּמְע֥וֹן קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃
6the guardian of the fatherless, the champion of widows,God, dwelling in holiness.
ז׳אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ מ֘וֹשִׁ֤יב יְחִידִ֨ים ׀ בַּ֗יְתָה מוֹצִ֣יא אֲ֭סִירִים בַּכּוֹשָׁר֑וֹת אַ֥ךְ ס֝וֹרְרִ֗ים שָׁכְנ֥וּ צְחִיחָֽה׃
7God restores the lonely to their homes,sets free the imprisoned, safe and sound,while the rebellious must live in a parched land.
ח׳אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים בְּ֭צֵאתְךָ לִפְנֵ֣י עַמֶּ֑ךָ בְּצַעְדְּךָ֖ בִישִׁימ֣וֹן סֶֽלָה׃
8O God, when You went at the head of Your army,when You marched through the desert, selah
ט׳אֶ֤רֶץ רָעָ֨שָׁה ׀ אַף־שָׁמַ֣יִם נָטְפוּ֮ מִפְּנֵ֢י אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים זֶ֥ה סִינַ֑י מִפְּנֵ֥י אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
9the earth trembled, the sky rained because of God,yon Sinai, because of God—the God of Israel.
י׳גֶּ֣שֶׁם נְ֭דָבוֹת תָּנִ֣יף אֱלֹהִ֑ים נַחֲלָתְךָ֥ וְ֝נִלְאָ֗ה אַתָּ֥ה כוֹנַנְתָּֽהּ׃
10You released a bountiful rain, O God;when Your own land languished, You sustained it.
י״אחַיָּתְךָ֥ יָשְׁבוּ־בָ֑הּ תָּ֤כִֽין־בְּטוֹבָתְךָ֖ לֶֽעָנִ֣י אֱלֹהִֽים׃
11Your tribe dwells there;O God, in Your goodness You provide for the needy.
י״באֲדֹנָ֥י יִתֶּן־אֹ֑מֶר הַֽ֝מְבַשְּׂר֗וֹת צָבָ֥א רָֽב׃
12My Sovereign gives a command;the women who bring the news are a great host:
י״גמַלְכֵ֣י צְ֭בָאוֹת יִדֹּד֣וּן יִדֹּד֑וּן וּנְוַת־בַּ֝֗יִת תְּחַלֵּ֥ק שָׁלָֽל׃
13“The kings and their armies are in headlong flight;the women at home are sharing in the spoils;
י״דאִֽם־תִּשְׁכְּבוּן֮ בֵּ֤ין שְׁפַ֫תָּ֥יִם כַּנְפֵ֣י י֭וֹנָה נֶחְפָּ֣ה בַכֶּ֑סֶף וְ֝אֶבְרוֹתֶ֗יהָ בִּירַקְרַ֥ק חָרֽוּץ׃
14even for those of you who lie among the sheepfoldsthere are wings of a dove sheathed in silver,its pinions in fine gold.”
ט״ובְּפָ֘רֵ֤שׂ שַׁדַּ֓י מְלָ֘כִ֤ים בָּ֗הּ תַּשְׁלֵ֥ג בְּצַלְמֽוֹן׃
15When Shaddai scattered the kings,it seemed like a snowstorm in Zalmon.
ט״זהַר־אֱ֭לֹהִים הַר־בָּשָׁ֑ן הַ֥ר גַּ֝בְנֻנִּ֗ים הַר־בָּשָֽׁן׃
16O majestic mountain, Mount Bashan;O jagged mountain, Mount Bashan;
י״זלָ֤מָּה ׀ תְּֽרַצְּדוּן֮ הָרִ֢ים גַּבְנֻ֫נִּ֥ים הָהָ֗ר חָמַ֣ד אֱלֹהִ֣ים לְשִׁבְתּ֑וֹ אַף־יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן לָנֶֽצַח׃
17why so hostile, O jagged mountains,toward the mountain God desired as a dwelling? GOD shall abide there forever.
י״חרֶ֤כֶב אֱלֹהִ֗ים רִבֹּתַ֣יִם אַלְפֵ֣י שִׁנְאָ֑ן אֲדֹנָ֥י בָֿ֝֗ם סִינַ֥י בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃
18God’s chariots are myriads upon myriads,thousands upon thousands;my Sovereign is among them as in Sinai in holiness.
י״טעָ֘לִ֤יתָ לַמָּר֨וֹם ׀ שָׁ֘בִ֤יתָ שֶּׁ֗בִי לָקַ֣חְתָּ מַ֭תָּנוֹת בָּאָדָ֑ם וְאַ֥ף ס֝וֹרְרִ֗ים לִשְׁכֹּ֤ן ׀ יָ֬הּ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
19You went up to the heights, having taken captives,having received tribute of people,even of those who rebelagainst the abiding there of Yah—who is God.
כ׳בָּ֤ר֣וּךְ אֲדֹנָי֮ י֤וֹם ׀ י֥֫וֹם יַעֲמׇס־לָ֗נוּ הָ֘אֵ֤ל יְֽשׁוּעָתֵ֬נוּ סֶֽלָה׃
20Blessed is my Sovereign,day by day supporting us—God, our deliverance. Selah.
כ״אהָ֤אֵ֣ל ׀ לָנוּ֮ אֵ֤ל לְֽמ֫וֹשָׁע֥וֹת וְלֵיהֹוִ֥ה אֲדֹנָ֑י לַ֝מָּ֗וֶת תֹּצָאֽוֹת׃
21God is for us a God of deliverance; GOD my Sovereign provides an escape from death.
כ״באַךְ־אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִמְחַץ֮ רֹ֤אשׁ אֹ֫יְבָ֥יו קׇדְקֹ֥ד שֵׂעָ֑ר מִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ךְ בַּאֲשָׁמָֽיו׃
22God will smash the heads of all opponents,the hairy crown of the one who walks about in guilt.
כ״גאָמַ֣ר אֲ֭דֹנָי מִבָּשָׁ֣ן אָשִׁ֑יב אָ֝שִׁ֗יב מִֽמְּצֻל֥וֹת יָֽם׃
23My Sovereign said, “I will retrieve from Bashan,I will retrieve from the depths of the sea;
כ״דלְמַ֤עַן ׀ תִּ֥מְחַ֥ץ רַגְלְךָ֗ בְּ֫דָ֥ם לְשׁ֥וֹן כְּלָבֶ֑יךָ מֵאֹיְבִ֥ים מִנֵּֽהוּ׃
24that your feet may wade through blood,that the tongue of your dogs may have its portion of your enemies.”
כ״הרָא֣וּ הֲלִיכוֹתֶ֣יךָ אֱלֹהִ֑ים הֲלִ֘יכ֤וֹת אֵלִ֖י מַלְכִּ֣י בַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃
25People see Your processions, O God,the processions of my God, my monarch,into the sanctuary.
כ״וקִדְּמ֣וּ שָׁ֭רִים אַחַ֣ר נֹגְנִ֑ים בְּת֥וֹךְ עֲ֝לָמ֗וֹת תּוֹפֵפֽוֹת׃
26First come singers, then musicians,amidst maidens playing hand-drums.cmaidens playing hand-drums See note at Exod. 15.20.
כ״זבְּֽ֭מַקְהֵלוֹת בָּרְכ֣וּ אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י מִמְּק֥וֹר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
27In assemblies bless God, ETERNAL One, O you who are from the fountain of Israel.
כ״חשָׁ֤ם בִּנְיָמִ֨ן ׀ צָעִ֡יר רֹדֵ֗ם שָׂרֵ֣י יְ֭הוּדָה רִגְמָתָ֑ם שָׂרֵ֥י זְ֝בֻל֗וּן שָׂרֵ֥י נַפְתָּלִֽי׃
28There is little Benjamin who rules them,the princes of Judah who command them,the princes of Zebulun and Naphtali.
כ״טצִוָּ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ עֻ֫זֶּ֥ךָ עוּזָּ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֑ים ז֝֗וּ פָּעַ֥לְתָּ לָּֽנוּ׃
29Your God has ordained strength for you,the strength, O God,that You displayed for us
ל׳מֵ֭הֵיכָלֶךָ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לְךָ֤ יוֹבִ֖ילוּ מְלָכִ֣ים שָֽׁי׃
30from Your temple above Jerusalem.The kings bring You tribute.
ל״אגְּעַ֨ר חַיַּ֪ת קָנֶ֡ה עֲדַ֤ת אַבִּירִ֨ים ׀ בְּעֶגְלֵ֬י עַמִּ֗ים מִתְרַפֵּ֥ס בְּרַצֵּי־כָ֑סֶף בִּזַּ֥ר עַ֝מִּ֗ים קְרָב֥וֹת יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃
31Blast the beast of the marsh,the herd of bulls among the peoples, the calves,till they come cringing with pieces of silver.Scatter the peoples who delight in wars!
ל״ביֶאֱתָ֣יוּ חַ֭שְׁמַנִּים מִנִּ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם כּ֥וּשׁ תָּרִ֥יץ יָ֝דָ֗יו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃
32Tribute-bearers shall come from Egypt;Cush shall hasten its gifts to God.
ל״גמַמְלְכ֣וֹת הָ֭אָרֶץ שִׁ֣ירוּ לֵאלֹהִ֑ים זַמְּר֖וּ אֲדֹנָ֣י סֶֽלָה׃
33O kingdoms of the earth,sing to God;chant hymns to my Sovereign, selah
ל״דלָ֭רֹכֵב בִּשְׁמֵ֣י שְׁמֵי־קֶ֑דֶם הֵ֥ן יִתֵּ֥ן בְּ֝קוֹל֗וֹ ק֣וֹל עֹֽז׃
34to the One who rides the ancient highest heavens,who thunders forth with a mighty voice.
ל״התְּנ֥וּ עֹ֗ז לֵאלֹ֫הִ֥ים עַֽל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל גַּאֲוָת֑וֹ וְ֝עֻזּ֗וֹ בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃
35Ascribe might to God,whose majesty is over Israel,whose might is in the skies.
ל״ונ֤וֹרָ֥א אֱלֹהִ֗ים מִֽמִּקְדָּ֫שֶׁ֥יךָ אֵ֤ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל ה֤וּא נֹתֵ֨ן ׀ עֹ֖ז וְתַעֲצֻמ֥וֹת לָעָ֗ם בָּר֥וּךְ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ {פ}
36You are awesome, O God, in Your holy places;it is the God of Israel who gives might and power to the people.Blessed is God.
